Apply to be a Hopper!
Hoppers are volunteers who are assigned to work at the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC). In exchange, they receive a complementary registration pass to attend the conference. Hoppers are assigned multiple shifts for a total of 8 hours of volunteer time. They may have to miss a session or activity at the conference if they are assigned to work, but this is a great opportunity to get involved and connect with other attendees.
Applications will open in July. Anyone may apply to be a Hopper, but students from universities and community colleges in or around Houston are strongly encouraged to apply. Hoppers are NOT reimbursed for any costs–they must pay their own airfare, lodging, meals, and other expenses.
