Thint T. Cho
We’re highlighting GHC 2011 Scholarship Recipient this month letting students and professionals know that past scholars have experienced a tremendous value in attending Grace Hopper Celebration. Thint T. Cho is a graduate student at Indiana University-Purdue University (IUPUI) in the Master of Science in Media Arts and Sciences, Informatics programs. The career fair is truly a highlight of many of the GHC attendees. Thint expressed that GHC “made an impact as a Woman in Technology (WiT) to keep pursuing towards my dreams and goals in IT as an Entrepreneur and further developed my professional networks, professional development, and I felt so empowered, and inspired.”
One of many valuable each attendee takes away from GHC is a sense that there is an abundance of fields in computing or career paths. Thint noted, “By attending GHC opened so many doors, choices, and options for me. Before, I was stuck and set for one direction in my IT career, but now, I started asking myself, {is this the right career path for me? I started exploring other IT career choices.} I also found out that I am NOT alone. I have a lot of resources and support from the wonderful women I met at GHC.” Thint is the founder, the president, recruiter, and web mistress of Women in Technology (WiT) Student Professional Organization at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI). She continues to be relentless about encouraging women to apply for GHC scholarship. She also made a promise to herself that she “would bring as many of my Women in Technology (WiT) group with her to the GHC 2012.”
