Technical Executive Forum

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4TH

Hilton Baltimore Hotel

By invitation only

The Technical Executive Forum convenes C-level technology executives in a discussion of the challenges their organizations face in the recruitment, retention, and advancement of technical women and the knowledge sharing of solutions to these challenges.

ABOUT

Started in 2007 under the name “CTO Forum,” this initiative brings together thought leaders to raise awareness, actively engage discussion, and drive action among R&D executives on issues regarding the recruitment, retention, and advancement of technical women.

This Forum is held annually at the Grace Hopper Celebration and includes targeted discussions among technology executives and knowledge exchange and practical solutions to creating cultures that sustain diversity and innovation. Past participants included Colin Bodell, Vice President, Amazon; Debra Danielson, Distinguished Engineer and Senior Vice President, CA Technologies; Mary Coucher, Vice President, IBM; Patricia McDonald, Vice President, Intel; Tayloe Stansbury, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Intuit; Rick Rashid, Chief Research Officer, Microsoft; Brian Pawlowski, Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, NetApp; Barbara Holzapfel, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, SAP Labs North America; Angela Tucci, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, Symantec; Krista Claude, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Thomson Reuters.

In 2011, 69 R&D executives participated in the Forum.

“The most valuable part of the Forum was the suggestions for best practices from other leading companies.” – Executive participant

“I valued hearing from others going through rocky times, where they had lost ground in their efforts to promote women or are in companies where they were not personally valued as much as they had been in the past. I find this a very difficult situation to deal with and it’s nice to have a place where it’s OK to talk about it.” – Executive participant

“A better understanding of other companies’ experiences and ideas to improve support of technical women in our company was a valuable outcome of the Technical Executive Forum.” – Executive participant

“Some of the shared experiences gave me ideas on initiatives I can implement.” – Executive participant

This event is by invitation only. For questions, contact Christine Chiu, Research & Executive Programs Manager at christinec@anitaborg.org.
