Logistics for Supporter Academic Sponsors

This page lists information and deadlines to help sponsors plan for the conference. It will be updated as new information is announced, so please check back for details.

Scholarships & Registration

All Academic Sponsors receive scholarships for their students or junior faculty to attend, and each school is responsible for giving out their scholarships.

Each scholarship includes:

  • Full conference registration
  • Travel reimbursement funds up to $600 to include airfare, airport transportation, and other reasonable travel expenses
  • Hotel accommodations for four nights (checking in Tuesday, September 28 and checking out Saturday, October 2)

Supporter Sponsors get 2 scholarships.

Scholarship recipients should register themselves for the conference online by September 6 at www.regonline.com/ghc2010, select “GHC Scholarship Recipients,” and enter your sponsor code when prompted.

Reimbursement packets can be picked up at the conference and should be mailed in after the conference.

More registration passes can be purchased at the going rates.  These attendees can either register online and pay at checkout, or we can invoice you for any number of passes and give you a code to use online.

Please direct questions to Rachelle Siskin.

Hotel

We will make hotel reservations for your scholarship recipients, and they will be staying at the conference venue.

See the hotel assignments and confirmation numbers for scholarship recipients.

At the bottom of that page there is a list of people who indicated they were making their own lodging arrangements.

Roommate changes cannot be accomodated at this point.

Students will share rooms.  Roommate requests and special needs can be indicated in the conference registration form.  Hotel confirmation numbers will be posted in September.

Other attendees who are not scholarship recipients are encouraged to make their own hotel reservations early, as we do expect another sell-out conference.  Details are posted on the hotel and travel page.

Career Fair & On Site

This year we are adding a new Career Fair on Tuesday, September 28 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.  Sponsors are encouraged to focus their recruiting efforts during this time.  These are the only permissible hours for interviewing at GHC.  Interviewing at any other time during the conference is prohibited, as it conflicts with the conference schedule.

Sponsors are encouraged to schedule interviews before the conference with candidates from the GHC Resume Database (access begins in August).

The Job Book is now available online, and it will also be included in the conference bag for all attendees.

We will not be using the CONNECT Project this year.

If you’d like to coordinate your printing needs with the hotel’s FedEx Kinkos business center please contact Kurt Chambers at (404) 527-7075 or kurt.chambers@fedex.com.  See their pricing sheet. They can print materials in advance for you to pick up when you arrive in Atlanta.  This is a nice alternative to shipping, and can be convenient for last minute needs.

Resume Clinic

The Resume Clinic takes place during the Career Fair on Tuesday, September 28 from 5:00-9:00 p.m..

This is where GHC attendees will have their resumes reviewed and critiqued by industry and academia professionals.  All discussions are one-on-one and confidential.

We are seeking representatives from our GHC sponsor schools to volunteer as resume reviewers.  This is a great opportunity to meet potential candidates, share your expertise, and offer advice.

If you are interested in participating for some of the appointments, please contact Jerri Barrett for more information.

Conference Bag

Feel free to consider this year’s conference theme, “Collaborating Across Boundaries” as you select your item to be included in the conference bag.  We encourage you to select something earth-friendly, but this is not required.

All sponsors are invited to include one small item (collateral piece or gift) in the bag.  You are welcome to give out additional items at your exhibit table.

Please contact Rachelle Siskin for approval of your item by August 27, and remember to avoid anything fragile, heavy, or large.

You will need to provide 2,000 items for the bag.

If you need a vendor, we recommend Cathy Rossner, at Creative Marketing Group.

Items should arrive between September 8 – 22.

The conference bag is given out when attendees check in at registration.

Program

Supporter Sponsors will be listed in the printed program.

Resume Database

Supporter Sponsors have access to the resume database on August 30, and you will receive a username and password at this time.

The resume database will be accessible until December 15.
