INTERNET ACCESS
There will be free WiFi available during the conference in the public spaces and meeting rooms. A Cyber Center of laptops will also be available during the conference for complimentary use.
AIR TRAVEL
The nearest airport is the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The airport is about 11 miles from the Hyatt.
GROUND TRANSPORTATION
SHUTTLE
Go to the transportation booth at the airport and ask for a shuttle to the Hyatt Regency Atlanta Downtown. We recommend AASC (phone: 404-762-3007). No reservations are necessary. It runs every 15 minutes. The cost is $16.50 one way/$29 round trip per person.
LIMOUSINE
The Hyatt Concierge can arrange a limousine service to pick guests up at the gate for $65.00 for a town car, $85.00 for a SUV or $125.00 for a stretch limousine plus tax and gratuity. You can reach them at (404) 460-6437.
TAXI
To/From the airport will cost about $30.00 plus $2.00 per each additional person. Downtown Zone includes: North Avenue/Ashby to North Avenue/Boulevard to Boulevard/Atlanta to Atlanta Avenue/I75-I85 to I75-I85/Georgia Avenue to Georgia Avenue/Glenn Street to Gleen Street/Ralph David Abernathy to Boulevard back to Ashby Street/North Ave. Metered rates are: $2.50 = First 1/8 mile, $2.00 = Each additional 1 mile, $21.00/hr = Waiting time.
AMTRAK
There is an Amtrak stop about 3 miles North of the hotel. A tax ride would cost about $14.
GREYHOUND
From the Greyhound/Trailways stop, a taxi would cost about $10.
M.A.R.T.A.
The Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority costs $2.50 per ride. Rail system runs approx every 10 minutes. Hyatt Regency Atlanta is connected to Peachtree Center Train Station via Peachtree Center Mall. 20 minutes from Airport. (Airport pickup at baggage claim, TH Terminal. To get to Hyatt take M.A.R.T.A. to the Peachtree Center Station and exit Northeast towards Peachtree Center Mall. This service is not recommended after dark.
ATLANTA ATTRACTIONS
Atlanta Zoo - As one of the oldest zoos in the U.S., the Atlanta Zoo has over 1300 animals from 220 species. It is also one of the only places you can find giant pandas!
Georgia Aquarium - With the largest collection of marine animals and over 8 million gallons of fresh and sea water, Georgia Aquarium will definitely leave you in awe. Don’t miss your chance to see some of the largest fish in the world, whale sharks, and also beluga whales. These are just a few of the animals you will find at the aquarium.
Stone Mountain Park - Stone Mountain Park is located just 16 miles east of downtown Atlanta. Stop by the Pumpkin Festival which is happening weekends in October or try one of the largest family adventure courses in the country, SkyHike.
Jimmy Carter Library and Museum - Here you can find an extensive array of memorabilia from Jimmy Carter’s life, including his recently awarded Nobel Peace Prize and exhibitions highlighting his presidency and his work.
Atlanta History Center - Spread over 33 acres in historic Buckhead, the Atlanta History Center’s goal is to preserve the history and culture of the surrounding area. The Atlanta History Center has the Southeast’s largest museum and also features the Tullie Smith Farm, the Swan House, and Margaret Mitchell’s House (the author of Gone with the Wind).
Martin Luther King, Jr. Historical Site- Just a few blocks east of downtown Atlanta you can find the birthplace of Martin Luther King, Jr. the site covers several blocks and includes tours of his birth home, grave, and Baptist Church.
