If You’re New to Social Networking

If you’re completely new to social networking and still not sure what it’s all about, here’s a video that might help: Social Networking in Plain English.  For more Plain English videos on LinkedIn, Twitter and more, see The CommonCraft Show.

Safe and Social

We highly recommend reading 12 tips for safe social networking by Mitchell Ashley of Network World. It’s a nice concise summary of how to use online communities safely. However, be aware that social networks are constantly evolving. Both features and user interfaces change, sometimes dramatically. Learn to use the privacy and security features of any social network you use, and keep informed about changes.

Although we offer a number of online communities for GHC, we don’t expect everyone to participate in all of them. See the Community Home page for the complete list. Pick the one(s) that are most interesting to and convenient for you. But don’t be afraid to try something new!
