GHC Community: GHC on Twitter
What is Twitter?
Twitter is a “micro-blogging” service used to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent updates. If you’re not familiar with it, here’s a short video to explain the concept: Twitter in Plain English. At conferences, Twitter updates (i.e. “tweets”) have become a popular way to share conference news and highlights.
Twitter at GHC08
We’re using Twitter and the tag #ghc08 to share GHC08 updates before, during and after the conference. Anyone can:
- Follow ghc, the official GHC Twitterer.
- Read the GHC twitstream of all #ghc08-tagged public tweets.
- Post your own conference-related tweets to the GHC twitstream. Here’s how:
- Sign up for a Twitter account, if you don’t have one already.
- Turn off the “Protect my updates” Twitter account setting so your updates will show up in Twitter’s public stream.
- Include the #ghc08 tag somewhere in each GHC08-related tweet. You’ll see examples of this on the twitstream or by following ghc.
Official GHC08 Twitters
The following community volunteers are our official Twitterers. They have committed to tag their conference tweets with #ghc08 for the GHC twitstream:
