What is a Hopper?

Hoppers are temporary conference staff who work 8 hours at the conference in exchange for a complementary conference registration and a t-shirt. Work hours may be before the conference starts or during the conference. Conference staff agree to work the 8 hours that are assigned, even though this might mean missing a session. The complementary registration does not include the banquet. Banquet tickets may be purchased for $100 each when you register as conference staff. Donated banquet tickets may be available to conference staff on the day of the banquet.

Work assigned to conference staff will include monitoring program sessions, stuffing conference bags, greeting attendees, handling scholarship reimbursement forms, taking notes in sessions, staffing the store, and many other things.

The application period for Hoppers is now closed. All conference staff will be required to attend an orientation meeting on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Conference staff are expected to be available by cell phone during the conference in case it becomes necessary to change work assignments.
