Program Schedule: Saturday, October 20

The Saturday Sessions are the culmination of the conference theme “I Invent the Future”. Throughout the GHC conference industry intraprenuers, innovators and entrepreneurs present during panels, poster-sessions, keynotes, invited technical talks and through networking. Saturday’s interactive workshops will teach actionable skills and offer real world solutions for developing your own ideas, building networks, developing social movements, delivering products and launching companies.

The speakers from all four of these breakouts will come together at the beginning of the day to talk about what they want to accomplish. Each breakout is conducted twice, giving attendees the opportunity to attend two sessions.

Entrepreneurship: The Fundamentals (and Fun) of Idea Generation

Thinking of becoming an entrepreneur one day? Want to learn the basics of creating a winning business? Join this one-hour workshop with Denise Brosseau, President & Co-Founder, Invent Your Future Enterprises, a long-time business coach and serial entrepreneur as she shares some fun exercises you can use to move from the seed of an idea to a real, revenue-generating business. Be prepared to learn, laugh and meet some new friends as this is a hands-on session where no one will be left sitting on the sidelines. Bring your thinking caps and creativity – and you’ll leave with a new perspective on the joys (and challenges) of entrepreneurship.

Innovation Strategies: Finding the Big Idea

Almost every company says innovation is important, but few know how to get real about driving innovation. Merchant presents a practical tool anyone can use to get the ‘Big Idea.’ The presentation will include:

• Demonstration of scenario planning – how and when to use it
• Driving innovation via captured market intelligence
• Using process to capture the best and biggest ideas
• Developing innovation through research and insight

Intrapreneurship

Location: Salon VI and VII

Presenter: Nina Bhatti, HP Labs

“An Intrapreneur is the person who focuses on innovation and creativity and who transforms a dream or an idea into a profitable venture, by operating within the organizational environment. Thus, Intrapreneurs are Inside entrepreneurs.” From Wikipedia. A current Intraprenuer will talk about how she innovates within an organization involving, creating an idea, getting buy-in and managing up. Anyone working in industry will not want to miss this session.
