Get Involved, Get Connected – Grace Hopper Celebration Online
October 4-7, 2006
PALO ALTO, Calif., September 7, 2006 – In less than a month women computer scientists from throughout the world will converge at the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference in San Diego, California to present their technical work and celebrate women’s contributions to computing technology.
Feel the excitement and build community before the conference gets underway. There are many opportunities for you to get involved online:
- Represent! Add yourself to the GHC06 Frappr! map.
- Get connected! Find things to do in San Diego, share your words of wisdom, share a ride or a room, or organize your own affinity.
- Blog! Volunteer to become a LIVE blogger or notetaker.
- Pioneer! Do you already podcast or video blog (vblog)? Bring GHC to those who are unable to attend by podcasting or video blogging some GHC06 sessions.

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (GHC) is a program of The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) and is co-presented by ABI and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM). Inspired by the legacy of Admiral Grace Murray Hopper, this technical conference is the world’s largest gathering of women in computing, and is designed to bring the technology, research and career interests of women in IT-related professions to the forefront. Open to women and men from the undergraduate level to seasoned technical leaders and educators, GHC receives financial support from major corporations and universities and from the government through The National Science Foundation. GHC was founded by the late Dr. Anita Borg and Dr. Telle Whitney in 1994.
