Thank you for volunteering to be a live blogger at this year’s GHC. We’ve asked you and others to blog on the conference in an effort to encourage dialog in our community about women, technology, and our collective role in defining a better future for the world’s women.

Posting Your Blog Entry

You may select the site you’d like to post your blog to. You may post to your existing blog, or create a blog if you do not already have one. Which blogging software or site you choose is completely up to you: Blogger, Live Spaces/, and WordPress are some options. Once you have posted your entry, be sure to add the URL to the Notes Exchange area.

You may also post directly to the GHC Wiki. Every panel has been listed with starter links for your content. Select the appropriate panel and enter your blog entry.

Titles

Please title your posts “GHC 2006: NAME OF SESSION“. If you blog on the wiki, posts for each session have already been created.

Content

The style you choose to blog in is your choice. Just remember we are looking for your perspective, not just session notes. We have live notetakers for that purpose. This is space for you to voice your perspective and encourage others to share theirs as well. There is no wrong way to blog.

Author information

At the beginning or end of each of your posts please indicate you are live blogger for the conference. Give the following signature: “YOUR NAME, GHC 2006 Live Blogger”.

You are invited to add other information to the signature. For example you may want to sign “YOUR NAME, GHC 2006 Live Blogger. I also blog at URL OF YOUR OTHER BLOGS OR WEBSITES.”

Comments

We encourage you to allow users to comment on your GHC posts.

Tagging

We ask that you tag each of your posts with “ghc06“. It will help conference participants to find your blog during and after the conference. You may add any other tags you believe relate to the session.

To tag your post for Technorati (http://www.technorati.com/) insert this code into your post:
<a href="http://technorati.com/tag/ghc06" rel="tag">ghc06</a>

You also need to be sure your blog publishing tool pings Technorati. Review instructions on how to verify you’re pinging Technorati.

To tag your post in del.icio.us (http://del.icio.us/):

Not sure what all this tagging stuff is all about? Visit http://del.icio.us/help/tags for an overview.
