Anita Borg Change Agent Scholarship

Submission deadline: May 15, 2006

To expand the impact of the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference more internationally, the Anita Borg Change Agent Scholarship has been created to encourage the participation of women who live and work outside the United States.

The scholarship will be given to up to two women in computing who have expanded opportunities and influenced the careers of girls and women in technology outside the U.S. Applicants/nominees must establish their need for financial support to attend the conference. The recipient(s) will have all expenses paid to attend the 2006 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference. Complete details.

This scholarship program was generously established by Dr. Fran Allen, recipient of the 2004 inaugural Anita Borg Technical Leadership Award.

Anita Borg Awards

The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology seeks nominations for the Anita Borg Awards for Social Impact and Technical Leadership. The awards were established to recognize outstanding leaders who embrace Anita’s lasting vision to change the world for women and for technology.

In 2004, Dr. Fran Allen, IBM Fellow Emerita, and Karen Banks, Global Coordinator, APC Women’s Networking Program, were recipients of the inaugural Anita Borg Awards.

Recipients of the 2006 awards will each receive a $10,000 award and will be honored at the 2006 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Conference Awards Banquet to be held in San Diego, California, October 5, 2006.
