The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing 2006 is the sixth in a series of conferences designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. Presenters are leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial, academic and government communities. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today’s technology fields.
Due to the dedication and participation of great technical women — undergraduates and graduate students, developers and researchers, and business and technical leaders representing industry, academia and government — the 2006 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing conference, advanced the research and career interests of women in computing with overwhelming success. The Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI) and Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) thank everyone that made it possible, including the conference organizing committees, presenters, volunteers, and outstanding corporate and academic sponsors.
“I Invent the Future” - GHC 2007

Shared The Knowledge
Approximately 1300 women in computing for academia, industry and government came together to share their knowledge with one another. You are invited to continue this exchange by downloading the proceedings, viewing abstracts and images of the technical poster session, and reading or contributing notes to the conference wiki. If you are seeking internship or employment opportunities, we also encourage you to submit your resume to the conference database.
We Support Our Systers
Thank you to everyone who donated to the ABI Systers’ Pass It On grants program. We raised $7,895.95 at the conference. 100% of the money received will be granted to technical women in computing beginning the first quarter of 2007. As always, if you are a technical woman in computing, we invite you to join Systers.
